Why Choose a Certified Opportunity?

A Certified Business Opportunity is a better entrepreneurial option.  Hence, certified opportunities are in high demand.  Certified opportunities are more attractive to entrepreneurs because they are independently verifiable.  Certification is proof of service viability.  Moreover, choosing a business that offers certification is the single best method of avoiding scams.

Government-sanctioned certification makes Social Security Disability Advocacy a highly desirable income opportunity.  Certification establishes the legitimacy of non-attorney representation.  In addition, certification provides additional benefits to those who qualify.

Advantages of Advocate Certification

When seeking certified business opportunities, look no further than non-attorney representation.  Disability Associates has been practicing for more than thirty-five years. Our extensive knowledge gives us unique insights into certification.  Thus, we have written a handbook called the Direct-Pay Certification Prep Guide.  See the link on the right side of this page.

Getting certified will help guarantee the success of your business.  However, focusing on certification alone is short-sighted.  Like all things worth pursuing, there are steps you should take before grabbing the golden ring.

The greatest advantage of being certified is the direct-pay privilege.  Direct pay allows an advocate to be paid directly from Social Security.  Until certification, only attorneys were afforded this privilege.  Directly billing a client is no big deal.  However, the direct-pay privilege makes the payment process effortless.  Certified advocates automatically receive their fees from Social Security.

Business Certified Prep

Many entrepreneurs pursuing a career in advocacy believe the term prep means studying for an exam.  Yes, to become a certified advocate, you must pass the examination.  However, our experience has shown that studying for the exam alone is not enough to ensure your success.

Subsequently, we recommend that a new advocate also experience some level of on-the-job-training (OJT).  Accepting a few Social Security disability cases will add a valuable level of preparation.  As a result, we believe a little OJT can significantly enhance your chances of passing the certification exam.  Also, it is important to understand that advocate certification is optional.  Hence, certification is not required to practice in this field.

We recommend that a student advocate process at least three cases before sitting for the certification exam.  During this OJT period, a new advocate can simultaneously review their basic training course.  Also, the student advocate can take our full prep course.   Our Prep course is designed to directly prepare you for the direct-pay examination.

An Advocate Mentor

Our firm takes the process of certification prep one step further.  Disability Associates also offers a one-on-one mentor-based support service.  The mentorship program assigns an experienced advocate to the student.  Mentor support is like having and expert partner for one full year.  The mentor can help the new advocate find success.  Your mentor can assist you in all aspects of representation.  This support includes one-on-one assistance with new cases.
